Abstract

Machine for packaging long articles, e.g. loaves and paper rolls, consists of a support, which is provided with a rocking device, esp. a pneumatic jack, and receives one-by-one the articles to be packaged, an inclined plane situated below the support the receiving, at its upper part, two plastic packaging films from rolls, the article released by the rocking support being introduced by gravity between the films, a transverse movable welding bar for welding the films, a first transverse movable barrier, which has an electrical contact, and stops, on the inclined -plane, the article introduced between the films during transverse welding, and then releases this articles, two longitudinal movable welding bars, with an adjustable spacing for welding the films, a second transverse movable barrier, which stops on the inclined -plane, the article introduced between the films during longitudinal welding, and then releases this article, and devices for rocking the support, and moving the welding bars and the barriers as a function of the time and position of the article on the inclined plane.
