Abstract

Road top-surface layer made of a layer of cross linkable epoxy or polyurethane resin dressed with partially embedded polyamide particles prior to curing. Pref the particles are of 2.5-15 mm max. dimension. A subsequent coating maybe applied of resin curable at ambient temp. The final particle/martix resin ratio by wt. should be 0.1-10 pref 1-5, and is esp. suitable for roads to be used by wheeled vehicles. The crosslinked resin matrix does not allow the filler particles to submerge and leave a smooth and slippery top surface. The polyamide particles offer a low rate of wear and less rapid abrasion of each other or of tyres than stone fillers.
