Abstract

Solid rubber tyres where the wear surface is divided into parallel ribs by circumferential or helical grooves machined or moulded into the surface with straight or undulating walls. Esp. suitable for e.g. platform trolleys or mobile stretchers or similar small wheeled carriages with tyres made or natural or synthetic rubber or plastic, esp. polyurethane. The tread pattern increases the skid resistance when cornering on smooth, hard surfaces, e.g. concrete. The wheel maintains a rolling contact better than a smooth wheel and is therefore quieter.
