Abstract

Skew-mounted loose roller is mounted on the framework of a gravity conveyor or a storage tower, and has a self-lubricating cushion, pref. of Delrin (RTM), between a central fixed and a rotary peripheral element. One element is an axle and the other is a roller ring, with the smallest possible ratio of dias. The cushion can deform elastically when a pressure is locally exerted, and is integral with the ring and mounted on the axle with play. The cushion has a projecting annular bead within its bore, to be lodged in a throat in the axle to retain the roller axially.
