Abstract

1303764 Orienting onions ODESSKOE SPETSIALNOE KONSTRUKTORSKOTEKHNO-LOGICHESKOE BJURO PRODOVOLSTVENNOGO MASHINOSTROENIA 13 May 1971 14744/71 Heading B8S Onions 1, Fig. 3, are fed from a hopper 3 by a pocketed disc 4 to three cone shaped members 2 which rotate in the same direction and impart rotation to the onion which eventually rotates about its axis of symmetry. The member 2 which is mounted on the shaft 6 is moved to one side by a lever 14 and a cam to discharge the oriented onion. Fig. 4 shows an embodiment in which one roller 2 is swung to one side by a lever 27 and a cam 28. The rotating members may be spherical, Fig. 6 (not shown), or cylindrical, Fig. 8 (not shown).
