Abstract
A battery shell is moulded from a compsn. contg. a mixt. of high density polyolefin and short glass fibre dispersed in the resin, the fibres comprising 15% of the mixt. and having an av. length which is equal to shorter than the av. thickness of the walls or base of the battery to prevent the infiltration of concd. acid contained in the battery. The fibres are oriented with their axis parallel to the surfaces of the main walls or base. The battery is used in vehicles and is mechanically strong and shock resistant.
