Abstract

Producing a laminated ski with a cellular plastic core in a single stage moulding operation, the novel feature of which is the nature of the core material which consists of a uniform distribution of hollow cellular particles of plastic, particularly foamed polystyrene hollow microspheres of diameter less than 2 mm and sp. gr. less than 0.65 kg/l, in a mixture of loose glass fibres and a hardenable resin, particularly an epoxide resin. Advantageously 1 part by weight of the microspheres with diameter less than 0.5 mm, is mixed with 2-3 parts of liquid epoxide resin and a hardener and 1-2 parts of glass staple fibre of length 3-6 mm and diameter 0.003-0.006 mm.
