Abstract
Floor or flour paste is swept rapidly through a sterilising chamber in which the wall is heated to 110 degrees to 150 degrees; the material to be treated is ninthe chamber for a few seconds only, during which time it is subjected to high frequency thermal shocks of very short duration, e.g. 0.2 secs. duration at a frequency of 15 times a second. All bacteria are destroyed but the material is discharged at a temp. too low to have any ill-effect on the quality or flavour of the flour.
