Abstract

The mixture, esp., air, is first compressed by either a two stage or single stage compressor and fed to a conventional multi-zone, intermediate or high pressure, fractionating column. The liquefied component(s) both pass through heat exchange with the compressed feed mixture, the oxygen esp., being collected and the nitrogen, after further heating, used to drive a prime mover, esp., a gas turbine, which in turn drives the compressor.
