Abstract
Pile-type textile fabrics, esp. carpets with antistatic props. consist of a polyamide fibre pile contg. 1-12 wt.% of a mainly branched, chain lengthened polymer comprising the reaction prod. of a cpd (I) where each a and each x is an integer and R = divalent 1-13C hydrocarbon residue, with (II) >=1 diepoxy cpd. and/or cpds. providing divalent residues -CO-R'-CO- or -CO-NH-R'-NH-CO- where R' is a divalent aromatic, heterocyclic, cycloaliphtic or aliphatic hydrocarbon residue, and the pile is combined with a primary backing layer with an applied adherent conducting latex layer. Esp. polycapronamide or polyhexamethyleneadipamide fibres contg. up to ca 10% e.g. of a reaction prod. of dimethylterephthalate and 'Tetronic' (RTM) tetrols are combined with a spin-bonded polypropylene or jute backing layer with a backing e.g. of a styrene-butadiene latex contg. e.g. a low mol epoxyethane polymer as antistatic agent. Products are shock-free carpets which retain their antistatic props over long periods.
