Abstract

Quality control of texturising by the process in which a bundle of synthetic filaments is fed with steam against the wad of yarn packed in a stuffing box, improved when the condition of the wad at the outlet is monitored pneumatically. Ports near to the point where the yarn is drawn off are connected to pneumatic pressure switches which operate with the control equipment to energise control valves regulating the flow of steam.
