Abstract

Title article comprises abrasion resistant plastic fibres (e.g. polyamide) in a resin matrix (e.g. polyester). The pad is cold moulded and cut to size as required and pref. the pad includes 85-95% matrix to 5-15% fibres. Pref. the fibres have a dia. of 0.2-0.8 mm. and a length of 3-8 min. The pad produces a smoother finish and has a higher wear resistance than natural abrasives.
