Abstract

Device comprises a vertical mixing tube with an internal canal. The tube has a combining - cone at the entrance for the grains and compressed air is introduced from a side tubulure. A rod, whose height can be adjusted by a hand-wheel is placed at the canal entrance and adjusts the quantity of grains injected. The two phases, of air and grains, then passes into the canal of a second mixing tube, with a wider cross-section. Because of the sudden variation of this cross-section, and to the complementary air injected along-side, shock waves appear which tear the envelopes off the grains, their adhesion having been weakened in the first mixing tube. The sleeves forming the second tube are made of an abrasive material; this increases the friction and leads to a more intensive decortication of the grains. After passing these sleeves, the flow losses its speed as it flows through a diffuser.
