Abstract

Compositions comprising one of more substances extracted from a plant of the genus Avena, a water soluble excipient acceptable for oral adminstration and a pharmaceutically acceptable disintegration agent, in the form of tablets or granulates which disperse rapidly in the mouth. Compsn. are useful for reducing tobacco dependence and since they disperse or dissolve readily need not be taken with water. Excipient is e.g. glucose, fructose, mannitol or glycine, and disintegration agents are maize or potato starch, alginic acid or microcrystalline cellulose.
