Abstract
The device described in the principal patent allows of a rectilinear or circular displacement; the residues from the operation of the explosives tend to accumulate and foul the moving parts of the device. This difficulty is overcome in the new arrangement which consists of an assembly of N identical modules in which a driven piston moves N-1 times; it is mechanically locked at the end of each step and prepd. for the next firing. Device can be used for the electrical sequential switching of missiles, torpedoes and mines, as an arming guard for propellants or military charges and for the control of valves where their opening present a certain danger. When the igniter is fired, the gases displace a locking piston and a retractable stop; this liberates the driven piston which is forced into the next module, N+1.
