Abstract

Oxidn of CO present in an air-space, by using a mixt of a CO oxidn catalyst and natural zeolites, is effected by providing a dehydration chamber packed with particles of a moisture absorbing drying agent, esp SiO2 gel, active Al oxide or natural zeolite, which can be desorbed through action of a dry gas-stream, at both front and back of each catalyst chamber filled with particles of catalyst mixt., esp. a mixt. of Mn- and Cu oxides and natural zeolites; and consecutively passing a gas-stream contg. CO, moisture and O2 through each of these 3 adjointing chambers, for a given period in one direction and then for a similar period in the other direction, and repeating this gas-flow continuously while maintaining a high catalyst activity. Uses included cars, garges, rooms contg. an oil-heater.
