Abstract

In the copolymers, which contain polysiloxane and polyether and/or polyester gps. at least part of the O-atoms of the urethane gps. are directly bound to Si as in (-NHCO2Si(R)(R')-) where R and R' are alkyl or aryl contg 8C). Coatings produced are elastomeric, have good mech. props, are non-sticky and have low self-adherence and hence pleasant handle. Prepn. of the copolymers is by reacting a polyether and/or polyester urethane, and then crosslinking with a polysiloxane polyol in presence of other short-chain extenders.
