Abstract

Gas, e.g., N2, is sepd. from a mixt. with liquefied N2, which is passed through an inlet to the interior of an inclined or vertical cylindrical vessel, pref. packed, e.g. with loose metal wool, so that liq. gravitates to a bottom outlet, and gas rises to orifices in the upper flange of the vessel, from where it discharges to atmos. The inlet pref. penetrates to the centre of the vessel.
