Abstract
A catalyst, consisting of a homogeneous mixt. of oxides and/or aluminates of Cu, Ni and Mn, esp. for reduction of nitrogen oxides to N2 in waste gas prodts. is made economically by soaking a carrier substance, esp. alpha-Al2O3 made by heating alpha-Al(OH)3 at 1000 degrees C, in a hot, saturated aq. soln. of Cu, Ni and Mn salts, esp. nitrates. The impregnated carrier is dried at 90-150 degrees C heated at 200-450 degrees C, to form oxides and roasted at 900-1100 degrees C (1000-1050 degrees C) to produce aluminates. The prodt. pref. has a wt. ratio Cu:Ni:Mn = 1:1:1.
