The flexible pipe is combined with two rigid guide elements of funnel or flared shape, surrounding the pipe at the ends connected to the weld head and platform respectively and limiting the inclination which the pipe can assume at these posns. the interior wall of the funnel having a re-entrant profile section in an axial plane, the slope of which relative to the funnel axis varies continuously.
