Abstract

The submersible pump unit has an axial discharge detachably coupled to a discharge pipe. It has one or more rails (7) acting as guides for the pump (1) to allow this to be raised and lowered. The rail is inclined to the discharge pipe (5) at an angle of less than 60 deg., and the coupling between pump and discharge pipe is watertight. The pump discharge (3) may be cylindrical or conical, or spherical, fitting into a mating portion on the discharge pipe. The lower end of the guide rail can be attached to this mating portion (4).
