Abstract
Device for melting blocks of fusible materials such as waxes, hot melt adhesives, etc. and discharging the molten liquid into a reservoir by loading solid blocks against a revolving hot surface to produce a liquified coating which i scraped off at a different point of rotation. The solid blocks may slide or be pushed or stacked to impinge on one or more heated rolls, pref. of variable speed. Self cleaning rollers are less prone to fouling and parasitic elf insulation than simple heated reservoirs directly loaded with pieces of solid feedstock. Higher melting rates possible due to interfacial contact of the wax with a lhot surface instead of immersion into a liquid which is an indifferent heat transfer fluid.
