Abstract

Supports covered with a sheet of relatively highly plasticised plastic material where the surface of the latter in contact with the support is coated wiht a lacquer which inhibits migration of the plasticisers into the support. Also plastic sheeting with printed surfaces covered with an impermeable lacquer. Pref. the plasticised cover is transparent and printed on the face which is subsequently lacquered and laid in contact with is support. Suitable for e.g. plasticised PVC covers for seats with cores of polyurethane foam, to prevent both deterioration of the foam and embrittlement of the cover by deplasticisation. Protects printing from external cleaning fluids, fabrication adhesives etc. Protective lacquers may be based on polyurethane, polyester or polyacrylic resins.
