Abstract

Additive to prevent clumping of fertilizers as described in the parent patent, comprising a powdered or granular product contg. a water-repellent surface active agent and also contg. an oil or waxy substance to prevent dust formation and to control the melting or softening point of the particles of the additive. Additives are 60-90% powdered mineral, e.g. alkaline silicates, clays, argile, kaolin, montmonllonite, chalk, dolomite, CaSO4, BaSO4, kieselgular, or their artificial equivs. Surface active agents may be 3-22C amines their polyoxyethylene derivs. amides, nitriles, amino acids, ammonium and amine salts fatty or waxy components may be petroleum jelly, paraffins mineral naphtha, light or heavy oils, waxes and ozokerites melting or softening up to 120 degrees C and opt. their amount and vegetable equivs. Additive used at 0.05 to 1% of the fertilizers wt.
