Abstract
Title cpds. of formula (I): (where R is lower alkyl, carbethoxyalkyl or phenyl, R1 is lower alkyl, and R2 is alkylthio, alkynyl, CN or N-(lower alkyl)-carbamoyl) are systemic and contact insecticides. Results of tests against Musca domestica, Aphis fabae and Tetranychus urticae are given in the specification. (I) can be prepared by various methods. Thus (I; R1 = Et) can be obtained by reacting a suitable mercaptan with ethylthionophosphine sulphide at elevated temp. in the presence of a solvent, and reacting the resulting reactive phosphonothionic acid, without isolation, with a reactive halogen-contg. cpd. in the presence of a base.
