Abstract

A 2-4C alpha-olefin is polymerised to a crystalline polymer in inert organic liquid in presence of TiCl3 catalyst contg. tri (2-4C) alkyl aluminium and alkyl Al halide activators which are added in small amts. (2-10% based on Ti) at intervals chosen to keep the reaction rate constant. This method maintains reaction rate and increases polymer yield/wt. of Ti catalyst.
