Abstract

Type-written or hand-written characters made in error are completely obliterated without smearing by application of a coating of the same colour as the writting paper. A pigmented layer (esp. of TiO2) is applied to paper sheet from an organic solvent so that the dry pigment is present at a rate >6 (7.5-10) g/m2; a wax is applied over this layer at thickness 1.5-3 g/m2 from a warm melt. The coated paper is laid face downwards on the typing paper. Pressure from a ball point pen or typewriter is used to apply the obliteration material at the desired points.
