Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the captioned recording paper which is minimized for scum sticking on a recording head and superior in resolution by applying and drying a colorless dyestuff and an electron receptor to color the dyestuff at heating and then treating the surface to have a specified value for smoothness. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid containing as essential components (A) colorless leuco dyestuff [3, 3-bis-(p-dimethylaminophenyl)phthalide, etc.] and (B) electron receptor to color the dyestuff at heating (4-t-butylphenol, etc.) is applied on a wood free paper with air knife coater and dried. Then, an objective thermal recording paper is obtainable through subjecting it to calendering so as to have a smoothness at 100-200 sec. on the surface. For the said coating liquid, it is preferable to give the component B at 1.5-2.5 parts to 1 part of the component A.
