Abstract

Steel alloy fabricated by mixing iron/steel powder, carbon (pref. graphite) powder, with a small amt. of a powder contg. >=1 alloy sulphide chosen from Cu, Ni Mo. Co, Sn and Cr, compressing and sintering in an inert or reducing atmos. at a temp >= the m.pt. of the sulphide. Higher strength with uniform strengths, hardness and porosity are obtained.
