Abstract

Small supplies of drinking water for small communities are available from a packaged, purification plant which requires no skilled operation and little maintenance, and can produce drinking water in a very short time after starting up. The plant comprises, in sequence, a motorised pump, a filter, an ultra-violet ray germicidal unit and a chemical dosing germicidal treatment unit. The ultra-violet ray and chemical dosing units may be used in combination or independently of each other. Preferably, the plant is built into a portable cabinet together with a panel which groups the controls, switches and gauges.
