Abstract

The brassiere (e.g. in the form of a bikini top) is formed from a fabric piece pref. of a jersey knit of polyester and polyamide yarns, and the region of the cups is decorated pref. by an ink transfer process. The fabric piece is then moulded at a temp. sufficient to fuse the polyester components whereby when the polyester components have solidified the shape of the cups is retained. The cups are firm and give good support while the remainder of the brassiere is highly elastic.
