Abstract

In a single vessel, fuel rods are pressurized and sealed by (i) welding a stopper with a pressurizing duct onto the fuel rod sheath after purging the sheath of gas and admitting some of the pressurizing gas, (ii) pressurizing the fuel rod and sealing the duct.
