Abstract
Parent patent concerns a device for sludges in which the liq. is sepd. from the solid matter after introduction into a tank under reduced press. The tank includes filtration drains communicating with a reservoir and means for reducing the press. to abstract the water from the tank. In the new device means are provided for extracting the solid matter remaining in the tank. The device comprises a container divided into a tank portion and a reservoir sepd. by a partition; the container may be fixed to the floor of a lorry. A vacuum pump can be put into communication, through a valve, with either the tank or the reservoir; the valve is controlled by a microswitch operated by a float. Water and the solid matter contained in sludges or similar materials can be sepd. continuously at a high rate of yield.
