Abstract

Laminated cardboard with improved layer strength is produced by couching the moist individual layers on one another, a binder being applied to part of the surface of each side of >=1 of the layers, which is to be couched with 1 or 2 other layers. Both the interlaminar strength and the strength of the individual layers are improved, whilst the rigidity and wet strength are adequate and the gas permeability is good. Since layers can be couched in a drier state than without binder, machine speed can be increased and drying capacity waved.
