Abstract
The catalyst is prepd. by heating a mixture of metal providing cpds. contg. Ni and/or Cu, and a metal halide to provide halogen, with graphite in a non-oxidising atmosphere so as to ppte. the metal on the graphite carrier. The catalyst is very resistant to poisoning by lead.
