Abstract

The locking section is mounted in the movable upper mould section, and held in place under spring tension by a rod. The lower section of the locking unit carries feed channels for the plastic feed, and covers the top of the moulding zone. The purpose is to reduce the number of components in the mould-opening and casting-ejection phases, and to break off any residual plastic feed from the casting before ejection.
