Abstract

Coating compsn. for non-stick, low friction coatings consists of silicone glazing resin and a polyvinylbutyral resin dissolved in a volatile org. solvent, the wt ratio of polyvinylbutyral resin to silicone resin pref. being 1/3 to 2/1. Used for coating metal and glass cracking utensils of all types. The compsn bonds firmly to the coated surface by use of air drying, and does not required baking. The coating is more resistant to abrasion than PTFE coatings.
