Abstract

Fixing siliconised rubber onto a metal substrate. Substrate is coated with a coating consisting of Zn particles (10-50) wt. % based on comp) and a condensate obtained from Si(OR)4 (where R = Cl-4 alkyl). The condensate has an SiO2 content of 35%, a water content of 0.15-0.5 moles H2O/group. A solvent selected from a mono- or di- alkylene glycol monoalkyl ether having b.pts. in the range 121 degrees C-150 degrees C. An organo polysiloxane is then applied to the dried base.
