Abstract

Self supporting insulation panel for roofs and walls has an insulating core (11) of rigid foam, esp. rigid polyurethane foam, and two cover layers (12, 13), one of these cover layers being a reinforced metal plate or a reinforced plastics plate. The panels are stable and can be proudced in desired lengths on a conventional dobule belt installation without use of additional reinforcing elements. One side of the panel is smooth and suitable for use as an outer facing. The reinforced plate is provided at similar distances with folds (14) perpendicular to the cover layer (13) and extending into the core (11). The tops (16) of the folds (14) are widened to a hollow space (17) with a triangular cross section. The reinforced cover layer (13) may consist of a number of plates bonded at the place of the fold tops (16).
