Abstract

A device for detecting broken yarns, in a yarn sheet consists of a tube extending across the yarn sheet and pressurised by air to blow air in a direction to blow broken ends across a sensing axis. A narrow beam of light is projected along the sensing axis to be reflected to a photo-sensitive device, a broken end thus producing an indicating pulse.
