Cpds. of formula where R' = H, 1-4C alkyl; R2 = H; alkyl opt. substd. by one or more OH gps; beta-dialkylaminoalkyl; N-heterocyclicalkyl; Ar = phenyl opt. substd. by one or more halogen, alkyl, trihalomethyl, alkoxy, carboxy, cyclohexyl, thienyl, furyl, tetrahydrofuryl, pyridyl; R3 = Me in one of the beta-positions of the thiophen ring. These cpds. are analgesic and anti inflammatory agents in which the presence of R3 increases the level of analgesic activity.
