Abstract

Polyolefin is stabilised against the effects of UV light by incorporating (I) 0.1-2% wt stabiliser which absorbs UV light and (II) 1-15% wt of a copolymer of 50-95% wt ethylene and 50-5% wt aminoalkyl acrylate of formula: (where R is H or CH3; R1 and R2 are each H or C1-4 alkyl, a and n is 1-4). Specif. I is a hydroxybenzophenone, benzotriazole, substd acrylonitrile salicylate or triazine. The presence of (II) improves the compatibility of the polyolefin with (I).
