Abstract

Control valves are placed upstream of the gas/air change over cocks in the feeds to the hot walls and the regenerators and downstream of the exhaust change over cocks in the exhaust lines from the regenerators. These control the gas flows to match the heat demands of the ovens next to the hot walls/regenerators concerned in a timed sequence related to the down time of each oven as it is unloaded and refilled in sequence. Electro-pneumatic actuators controlled by individual programme cards in the electronic control unit are fitted to the valves and there is a central cycle timer.
