The fineness of yarn can be measured continuously and be kept constant automatically by force and fineness pickups. The fineness is measured by using a constant force and measuring the elongation and measuring the force. The force is divided by the fineness in a calculator and from this and the fineness, another calculator determines the cross relation function for the yarn.
