Abstract

7-Azaspiro 3,5 nonane-6,8-dione. is a CNS stimulant for treatment of neuralgia, painful shoulder, sciatica, polyneuritis and for combatting the toxic effects of barbiturates, chloral hydrate and other CNS depressants. For parenteral injection at 5-20 mg/day in unit doses containing 1-10mg/ml. Prepared by pyrolysis of the ammonium salt of cyclobutane-1,1-diacetic acid for 15 min. at 290-300 degrees C, then for 3 min. at 340 degrees C.
