Abstract

The inner lightweight core element has the front, opt. also the side, surfaces coated with an adhesive and a pulverulent or granulated protective or ornamental layer; the whole is then coated with varnish or lacquer and glued to a support, the adhesive ensuring the density and quality of the cladding element. Specif., the core may be of foamed polystyrene, the facing granulate of any suitable inert material, and the adhesive between them based on vinyl-acryl-emulsions with plasticiser, filler and methyl cellulose. Pref. lacquers include those based on polyester and polyurethane.
