Abstract

The solid polymers are represented by: (where n is greater than 2; R' = arom. or aliphatic group) with the olefinic links between positions 2-4, 2-6, 2-3, 3-4, 3-6 or 4-6. They are pref. made by condensation of 2-, 4- or 6-alkylated 2-, 3- or 4-pyridine aldehydes in presence of ZnCl2 or acetic anhydride. The conductive materials may be formed by dissolving quaternary derivative (II) and an organic charge transfer complexing agent (e.g. lithium tetracyanoquinodimethane) in a solvent (e.g. methanol) and forming films by casting.
