Abstract

Opaque crystalline hollow moulded articles are prepd. by injection blowing ethylene glycol polyterephthalates where the acid component contains at least 96 moles % terephthalic acid and the diol contains at least 96 moles % ethylene glycol, having intrinsic viscosity at least 0.75 dl/g and crystallising temp. Te of at most 150 degrees C. Temps of the forming mandrel and injection mould are equal to Te or 200 degrees C. The expansion mould temp. is 20 degrees C below second order transition temp. of the polymer. The products e.g. bottles, are stronger than known amorphous products and have good heat resistance.
