Abstract

Method of coating a sheet of glass with an even layer of coloured glass in which the molten coloured glass is supplied to an elongated crucible with a slit at the base through which if flows onto a ribbon of molten glass leaving a glass tank, across the full width of the ribbon and the two are passed together between the rollers. Accurate control of the thickness of both the base glass and the coating glass can be achieved together with good adhesion even when the glass compositions show different thermal expansion coefficients.
