Abstract

Polycrystalline spinel ferrite microwave absorbing material of general formula: N1l-x Znx-ySiyFe2O4 where 0.40 =x=0.65 and 0.025=y=0.10 esp. x=0.5, y=0.05. Incorporation of Si4 ions increases electrical conductivity and dielectric loss factor. Pref. material y=0.05, sintered at 1225 degrees C gives 35 db attenuation at 400 MHz in 5mm thickness.
